A trade group representing Wall Street’s investment banks this week renewed its call for clarity in federal legislation that would create a national standard on predatory lending. The call came at a joint hearing of the House Financial Services Subcommittees on Housing and Community Opportunity and Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit, where the Bond Market Association threw its weight behind H.R. 1295, “The Responsible Lending Act.”
