A group of finance experts and GSE critics have called on Congress to step up to the plate and draft a final version of legislation that directs a new regulator to wind down the portfolios of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee issued a statement late last week claiming that the two initial versions of GSE reform legislation did not go far enough in overhauling the regulatory structure of Fannie, Freddie
