Community banks are expressing concern about a plan by the Federal Housing Finance Board to prohibit loans with predatory features from being pledged as collateral for advances. FHFB Chairman Ronald Rosenfeld told Senate lawmakers during a recent hearing that there has been no decision on whether to issue a guidance or a rule, as details are still being worked out. He made clear, though, that the board is committed to seeing the plan through.
