Secondary market players are throwing their support behind a bipartisan predatory lending bill that would significantly reduce the liability faced by buyers and assignees of subprime loans. “[The bill] will preserve the benefits of subprime lending while helping to rid the marketplace of destructive predatory lenders,” said the Bond Market Association and the American Securitization Forum in a joint statement on H.R. 1295, which was introduced this week.
