The Mortgage Bankers Association is lobbying for GSE reform legislation that, among other things, would revise the most recent affordable housing goals for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and create a GSE-subsidized fund to aid low-income homebuyers and renters. GSE reform and national anti-predatory lending standards are two key issues on top of most lender groups’ advocacy goals for 2005, reflecting the bottom-line concerns of sellers, purchasers and securitizers of mortgage loans.
