A coalition of trade associations is planning a major push in 2005 to get states to reform their antiquated laws concerning notarization, according to an official of the Property Records Industry Association. “Some states haven’t changed their notarization laws in 40 years, because the secretaries of state are not aware of all the changes in technology,” said Carmen Bramante, chairman of the technology committee at the organization.
