A new lender advocacy group made its way to the Washington, DC, scene this week, promising to give a voice to independent mortgage bankers on legislative issues that may not be heard by other trade groups. The National Alliance of Independent Mortgage Bankers, or NAIMB, aims to even out the playing field in an industry that has seen dramatic consolidation and the needs of the small lender have been largely pushed aside, officials said.
