Fannie Mae announced this week that it would once again purchase 30-year loans for manufactured housing units that are secured with downpayments of only 5 percent. Last summer, Fannie declared that all 30-year mortgages would have to include downpayments of 10 percent, but the company said this week that it would be able to purchase loans with lower downpayments because of improvements in the primary market.
