California mortgage lenders are crossing their fingers that the state’s highest court will end attempts by cities to implement their own anti-predatory lending laws. The industry’s focus is now on the California Supreme Court, which last week heard oral arguments regarding the City of Oakland’s pending ordinance imposing prohibitions and restrictions on certain loans and lending practices.
