Wells Fargo has lost its bid to have a case removed to federal district court and must now defend against a claim alleging fraudulent business practices in a California court. On Aug. 9, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California remanded the class action case Cortazar v. Wells Fargo & Co. to the San Francisco Superior Court, saying that the bank had failed to meet the legal standards for removal.
