The Federal Trade Commission is planning to make online consumer privacy rights a higher priority in coming months, according to Howard Beales, director of the agency’s consumer protection division. Beales said in a speech that his organization is preparing to bring more privacy-related cases against commercial Internet sites, including one in the next few weeks.
