Online originations plummeted for a second consecutive quarter during the first three months of 2004 following the trend of the total mortgage market. Based on statistics collected by Inside Mortgage Technology, Internet production for the first quarter was estimated to total $175.30 billion, down from the $179.00 billion estimated for the fourth quarter of 2003, which itself was a drop from the volume in the third quarter.
