Under pressure from the mortgage industry and various businesses, the Federal Communications Commission has agreed to extend the effective date of a final rule that restricts fax communications between businesses. The FCC early this week announced that it has moved the rule’s effective date from Aug. 25, 2003 to Jan. 1, 2005 to give heavy fax users time to comply with the new consent requirements.
