The mortgage business is plagued by one of the most complex data sets in the financial services industry, and too often standard forms aren’t really standard, said one mortgage technology expert. Accordingly, the mortgage-lending world has been trying to come up with standards, first with EDI, or electronic data interchange with its X.12 standards, and more recently, with eXtensible Markup Language, intended to provide a set of rules for
