Mortgages are a complicated process, and the process is made more complicated by the explosion of the Internet, new technology and the enactment of the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, also known as the E-Sign Act. To help make the process come together faster and easier, mortgage standards are essential, but standards development is a tough business, says a Freddie Mac official.
