The U.S. Department of Labor plans to issue a final rule in the coming months that is expected to clarify that loan officers are exempt from overtime pay requirements. The DOL last March released a proposed rule that won a solid endorsement – with some requested modifications – from a mortgage banking industry that has seen long-held employment practices come under fire from the plaintiff’s bar.
