2003 wasn’t an easy year to be a mortgage servicer as record high refinance activity – and runoff – pounded servicing portfolios for most of the year. But when the dust settled at year-end, Inside Mortgage Finance’s annual ranking revealed that most of the top servicers in the country had managed to scrape out gains – no easy feat in 2003’s
