Ginnie Mae servicers in 2002 faced a decidedly uphill battle to grow their portfolios in a year when runoff from refinancings outpaced new production. The result was that most Ginnie servicers watched their volume slip last year. Overall Ginnie Mae servicing outstanding fell 6.5 percent in 2002 to end the year with $552.88 billion in volume. Significantly, all but one of the top five
