The U.S. mortgage market, like the rest of the financial services industry, ground to a standstill this week after terrorist attacks leveled New York’s World Trade Center. Although bond markets were shut down and many businesses closed on Tuesday, lenders across the country were still able to close deals and complete secondary market transactions.
