House Democrats led by Rep. John LaFalce, D-NY, have unveiled a comprehensive legislative package designed to shield consumers from various predatory lending practices. Though supportive of measures that would purge the mortgage industry of bad lenders, trade associations are leery of the package and its impact on lending.
