Congress will aim to strike a balance between industry and consumer interests in crafting mortgage reform legislation while at the same time bringing the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and the Truth in Lending Act into the 21st century, according to the head of the House subcommittee overseeing mortgage finance reform.
