The new expanded Financial Services Committee being formed to replace the old House Banking Committee is shaping up to be a large – if not cumbersome – body with a surprisingly large number of first-time members with little or no housing and/or mortgage industry experience. This does not bode well for anyone looking to advance mortgage-related legislation this year.
