Fair Isaac Inc., which pioneered the use of numerical scores to measure a borrower’s creditworthiness, has added a new dimension to its predictive FICO score that would allow banks and thrifts to originate more Community Reinvestment Act loans. Called FICO Expansion Score, the score taps into non-traditional sources of data to evaluate the credit risk of underserved consumers who have little or no track record of their credit activities.
