A rating agency criteria change could prove a mixed-blessing for subprime lenders in New Jersey. While Standard & Poor’s decision last week ensures that some lenders will continue to keep doing business in the key New Jersey housing market, the change could also take the air out of efforts to soften the Garden State’s tough anti-abuse law.
