The mortgage banking industry has intensified efforts to eliminate problematic provisions from a Senate bill reauthorizing the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The bill, the “National Consumer Credit Reporting System Improvement Act of 2003,” passed the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee with little debate. The bill is awaiting a full Senate vote.
