The mortgage and housing industries are calling for a $2 billion budget increase for the FHA insurance programs in the wake of a funding freeze ordered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. With FHA funds running low, HUD placed several of its mortgage insurance programs on hold but kept the mainstay 203(b) single-family program running.
