Wall Street has made recommendations to blunt the effects of anti-predatory lending legislation introduced by the New York City Council. The proposed local measure, Introduction 67-A, would prohibit the city government of New York from doing business with institutions that engage directly, or indirectly, in predatory lending. The measure, likewise, would affect subprime subsidiaries and affiliates of financial institutions.
