The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has issued guidance to help national banks manage risks arising from their dealings with third parties. In issuing the guidance, Comptroller of the Currency John Hawke urged banks to be "extremely cautious" before entering into any arrangement with third parties to offer financial products or services that the third party cannot offer by itself.
