A New York real estate firm charged with defrauding first-time FHA homebuyers into buying "totally renovated" properties that in fact badly needed repairs has agreed to a $1.5 million settlement with the state attorney general’s office. Under an agreement with Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, First Home Brokerage Corp. of Queens will pay restitution to some 2,500 consumers it allegedly conned.
