Four mortgage and banking industry trade groups have urged regulators to withdraw additional proposed subprime guidance to examiners, warning that it could potentially disrupt the mortgage market. America’s Community Bankers, the American Banker Association, the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, and the National Association of Home Builders were moved to act by a provision in the proposed guidance defining subprime lending.
