The New York State Banking Department is considering whether or not to strip Anvil Mortgage Ltd. of its license to do business in the state or to impose a fine for alleged abusive and deceptive lending practices. Anvil allegedly targeted black consumers with late night television advertisements of its loan products with Gospel music playing in the background.
