New production of commercial mortgage-backed securities hit $72.02 billion in 2001, thanks to a strong push in the final three months of the year, according to a new market analysis by Inside MBS & ABS. Last year’s CMBS volume represented a 52.9 percent increase from the $47.11 billion issued in 2000. The heaviest flow came in the fourth quarter,
