A flurry of automobile-related deals in the third quarter helped make auto loans the dominant collateral type found in the booming asset-backed security market during the first nine months of the year. According to numbers compiled by Inside MBS & ABS, auto loans accounted for 28 percent of the record $247.08 billion in ABS securities produced in the period.
