Freddie Mac has turned to the staff of its own accounting firm to fill the newly created position of executive vice president for finance – a job that some observers have labeled “disclosure czar.” The GSE last month announced that it has tapped Martin Baumann, a former partner at the firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, to fill the senior-level position created last summer. PwC is the firm currently re-audited Freddie’s books for the past three years.
