The Federal Housing Finance Board last week voted to reject a controversial measure that would have clipped the chairman’s extensive powers and given the full board of directors sole authority over policies, decisions and management of the agency. The measure lost by a 3-2 vote after a contentious debate between the Republican majority led by FHFB Chairman John Korsmo and the Democrats on the board, Directors Franz Leichter and Allan Mendelowitz.
