Plaintiffs alleging that Fannie Mae’s automated underwriting system is stacked against certain protected classes of mortgage borrowers have asked for more time to respond to the GSE’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit. Judge Richard Roberts of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia is currently considering the request in the closely watched class-action lawsuit, Rahmaan v. Federal National Mortgage Association. A ruling on the motion to dismiss is expected early next month.
