One of the losers in the new SEC disclosure agreement announced by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac appears to be the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight. After flexing its regulatory muscles with the recent announcement that it planned to take a leadership role and propose SEC-like disclosure and registration regulations for Fannie and Freddie on its own, OFHEO finds itself in the awkward position of having to abandon those plans.
