Standard & Poor’s led the major rating agencies in subprime business during the first half of this year. According to a new analysis by Inside B&C Lending, S&P rated $158.71 billion in new subprime transactions through the end of June, or a huge 99.6 percent of the period’s $159.40 billion in total issuance.
