Wholesale lenders cemented their hold on the subprime market in 2003, a new Inside B&C Lending analysis reveals. Combined, wholesale channels accounted for 65.5 percent of the record $322 billion in new subprime mortgages originated last year. With that performance, wholesalers basically held onto the gains they made in 2002, when they accounted for 66.9 percent of subprime production.
