A federal court ruling should make it easier for lenders to foreclose on borrowers who try to re-establish payments after filing for bankruptcy. Ruling in Colon v. Option One Mortgage, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit upheld a district court decision that lenders can foreclose against borrowers who have filed for protection under Chapter 13 of the bankruptcy code, which requires repayment of debt.
