Wholesale lenders dominated in a busy first quarter for the subprime market, a new Inside B&C Lending analysis reveals. Combined, mortgage brokers and correspondents accounted for close to two-thirds of the record $55.5 billion in new subprime loans generated during the first quarter of this year. Of those two channels, brokers were by far the more active, accounting for some 45 percent of new business.
