Industry and consumer advocates battled to a stalemate in state and local legislatures this year, a new report card by a leading law firm suggests. The report card, compiled by attorneys at Butera & Andrews, shows the industry this year succeeded in stopping anti-predatory lending legislation in 15 states, while an equal number of states have enacted at least one measure to regulate high-cost loans and abusive lending practices.
