Retailers improved their market share slightly during the early part of 2001, a new Inside B&C Lending snapshot of the market at the three-month mark reveals. But brokers appear to be gaining fast. In fact, wholesalers continue to deliver the majority of new subprime loans. According to Inside B&C Lending estimates, retail lenders generated 36.5 percent of new volume during the first quarter. That was up slightly from the 36.2 percent market share that retailers
