The Southwest remains the best place to make non-prime mortgage loans, according to University Financial Associates’ latest market analysis. The Ann Arbor, Michigan-based research group rated Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana as "above average." In the same category were Alaska, Connecticut and West Virginia, UFA said in its recent Nonprime Mortgage Report. Dropping off the list in early 2001 were Mississippi and Rhode Island, both of which enjoyed a brief stay among the best places.
