Standard & Poor’s remained the most active rating service in the non-agency MBS market through the midway point of 2004, despite some slight erosion in its dominant market share, according to a new analysis by Inside MBS & ABS. In the non-mortgage ABS ratings business, Moody’s Investors Service managed to boost its position as the top rating service, thanks largely to its heavy penetration in the student loan ABS sector.
