TRID Fallout: Surviving the Aftermath of New Disclosure Rules

Recorded December 16, 2015

The mad dash to get systems in place to comply with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s integrated disclosure rule is over, but it’s still no time to relax. As much of the industry pointed out while clamoring for a grace period from enforcement during the initial months of the new rule, the effects of this change are wide ranging—and something is sure to have been missed.

At the 11th hour, the CFPB agreed to an unspecified safe harbor for those acting in “good faith” to comply. And the government-sponsored enterprises and the FHA have declared more concrete transition forgiveness, saying they won’t test for technical compliance before Feb. 1. But what relief do these measures truly offer lenders?  And what should you be doing now to test, monitor and improve your disclosures compliance?

With “TRID Fallout: Surviving the Aftermath of New Disclosure Rules,” learn what risks might have slipped past even the best intentions, how to mitigate them, and what new disclosure-related problems you should be watching for.

You’ll hear from:

  • Rodrigo Alba, SVP, Mortgage Finance, and Senior Regulatory Counsel, American Bankers Association
  • Richard Andreano, Mortgage Banking Group Practice Leader, Ballard Spahr
  • Benjamin Olson, Partner, BuckleySandler
  • Josh Weinberg, Senior Vice President, Compliance, First Choice Loan Services

Among the topics addressed during the 90-minute event:

  • What are the most serious disclosure risks now?
  • What should you do if you uncover a problem with your disclosures?
  • How much protection do the CFPB, GSE and FHA transition grace periods provide you?
  • What training and tweaks should you be undertaking now?
  • What are the continuing risks related to conflicts with other mortgage rules?
  • What disclosure monitoring should you be undertaking?
