New home listings rose to their highest level since April, according to a recent report by Redfin. During the four weeks ending Aug. 23, new listings rose by 0.4% week over week to 376,235. Meanwhile, fewer buyers are purchasing homes, as pending home sales fell 1.1% over the same period, to the lowest level in six months.
Nonbanks Gain Traction in the Jumbo Sector
Some $86.13 billion of jumbo mortgages were produced during the first quarter of 2026, a 50.8% increase from the first quarter of 2025. Banks remain the largest producers of non-agency jumbos, but nonbanks accounted for four of the 10 largest non-agency jumbo producers in the first quarter of 2026: Pennymac, Rate, Redwood Trust and Rocket Mortgage.
