Fitch Touts MBS Monitoring Tool as Investors See Stepped Up Need for Deal Surveillance

Fitch Ratings is touting a new online index that will give investors in subprime MBS access to a wealth of new performance data on deals done by some of the market’s largest players. Fitch said the new index, available through its subscription-based Fitch Research portal, will help issuers benchmark performance by combining market information with detailed data on delinquencies, foreclosures and REOs for fixed – and adjustable-rate deals that it has rated since 1997.…
