The Department of Housing and Urban Development continues to consult with Congress on the agency’s proposed RESPA reform package but, apparently, has not reached any agreement on a final rule with key lawmakers. HUD has been working with legislators, particularly Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee Chairman Richard Shelby, to address competitive concerns, but nothing has been finalized, HUD Secretary Mel Martinez said in a recent broadcast interview.
