Proponents of an amendment to create a National Housing Trust Fund vowed to push the measure in the next Congress after it was stripped from an omnibus housing bill that got final approval from the House Financial Services Committee last week. The trust fund proposal, which would have been funded with “excess” FHA and Ginnie Mae reserve funds, was added to the Housing Affordability for America Act during its initial markup back in June.
